Good Canned Beer

Ok, I admit it. I'm a beer snob and the thought of drinking a canned beer frightens me. Well used to frighten me. But not since I tried two beers from the Oskar Blues Brewery in Lyons, Colorado.

Canned Beer

I tried two of their beers in cans. First was Dale's Pale Ale, which is an American Pale Ale. Big head, assertive hoppiness, no tinny aftertaste. Pretty darn good. The New York Times thought so too. But then the Times article gave Dale's 3.5 stars and gave Anchor Liberty Ale and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale only 2 stars ... so obviously the author knows very little about good beer.

The second beer was Old Chub, a Scotch Ale. Malty, complex, and 8% ABV!

I think I might add these beers to the tailgate party rotation this football season.
